IT IS WITH DEEP REGRET THAT I NOTE THE PASSING OF ONE OF OUR MOST REGULAR WALKERS - JANE.
IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE DETAILS OF HER MEMORIAL SERVICE AT WOKING CREMATORIUM ON THE 28th NOVEMBER 2025, PLEASE EMAIL ME ON info@heritagewalks.org
R.I.P. JANE - YOU WILL BE MISSED
The programme for the 2026 Heritage Walks is here.
Also here are posters for the walks around Ottershaw in December 2025, Brookwood in March 2026, Horsellin June 2026, Send in September 2026 and Byfleet in December 2026 (please print them out if you have somewhere that you can display them).
All Heritage Walks are free and open for anyone to attend. There is no membership, no booking, just turn-up and walk. They are all circular (bringing you back to where you started), and last up to two hours. There will be frequent stops on the walk to look at features of historic interest (and hear about their heritage), so the walks are more like gentle strolls, rather than rambles. Everyone who joins the walks, does so at their own risk.
To commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War, the Heritage Walks in 2018 all started (and ended) at a local War Memorial. In conjunction with the Woking Magazine, notes on two of those walks are reproduced here.
